Chris's Fantasy
2005-06-22 @ 7:38 a.m.

I finally got Chris to relax enough to share a fantasy with me. Fantasies are the best. You might get to try one, you might not, but only your imagination is the limit while it ferments in your head.

He was so hesitant, so shy, so embarrassed about telling me. I don't quite understand. Finally, though, he let his demented mind open up. Chris's fantasy was to have me dress like a Catholic school girl. That was it! I laughed and he immediately blushed. I had to tell him that I wasn't laughing at the fantasy, only at how shy he was about telling me. After all, as fantasies go in the 21st Century, it's a pretty benign fantasy. No batteries, midgets, caribou or twins.

I was expecting the old "two girls at once" bit, so I was pleasantly surprised. I don't mind the "two girls at once" bit, but that takes a lot of planning, schedule meshing and at least five phone calls. The Catholic school girl thing...I don't even have to go shopping. Even if I did, no raised eyebrows for a plaid skirt, knee highs, etc. How refreshing.

I'm also glad he said Catholic school girl. I know what I'm doing there. Everyone does. God, if he had said Mormon school girl or Quaker school girl, I wouldn't know what to do. Plus, if me dressing as William Penn turned him on I'd worry.

So that's a done deal. I can easily handle that. So one of these nights Chris is walking in on Catholic school girl Piper. Say a prayer for him.

Steve and I got together with a few people on Sunday and we watched a few movies. Someone brought The Blair Witch Project. I saw it when it first came out and thought it was good. Good, not great. When I watched it Sunday, it really made me think. What an underrated movie on so many fronts. I still think it's only good, not great, but a classic in its own right.

First, the budget had to be a joke compared with what it grossed. So in a business sense, it was genius, lucky or both.

After it was over, someone said, "That sucked. You don't see anything." I didn't say anything but I thought that aspect of it was brilliant. I enjoy ambiguity and I don't need everything spoon-fed. Not "seeing" was scarier than seeing. Your mind can be more terrifying than anything someone else can conceive. It's okay not to have definite answers; everything doesn't have to add up. It's okay that it wasn't a typical slasher film. It was different.

It does have its flaws. Like I said, a good movie with streaks of brilliance. The video constantly bouncing around was necessary but soon grew tiresome. Also, it seemed very long. Its not, but when a movie seems long, you know the editing could have been better.

So, that was my weekend Catholic school girls and Blair Witch.
