Perfect Day 2006-06-30 @ 7:05 a.m.
Doesn't every relationship deserve a perfect day?A spontaneous day, just you and your lover. A day filled with utterly inconsequential activity that will assume a special place of honor in your relationship's mythology. It's a day about the future, expectations and hopes. A day to disclose the things you will do, a time to reveal the dreams that suddenly seem tantalizingly within reach. Your past slowly recedes until it seems like a stranger's history. Nothing exists but all of your tomorrows. It's a day when you cease being an accidental visitor in his life. You are no longer the stranger lost in an alien landscape. Intimacy blossoms, expanding to measureless fathoms, and the mysteries of life and love no longer beguile. The day may consists of little more than a leisurely drive along the coast. A day spent exploring quaint shops in an out-of-the-way corner of the world that you happen to stumble upon. What is actually done is of little consequence. It is about the ambiance of the day. A soft, warm, safe mood that is too exquisite ever to be planned. Indeed, to attempt to schedule such a day would simply be wrong because the magic cannot be forced. Such magic has it's own inexplicable timetable. It's a day when you feel that no one, absolutely no one, can love as you do. Paolo and Francesca had a mere schoolyard crush compared to electrical charge you experience. You discover, if fleetingly, that your love, your life and the world is whole and it's beauty perfect and indescribable. The day's sweetness lingers in your mind forever and, on those days when the world turns cruel, the thought of those few perfect hours moves your heart. Your relationship will have good and bad days. Hopefully, you'll be blessed with many great days. Still, will anything equal that special day? If you've experienced that day already, you know. If your day is tucked away in an untapped corner of your future, then I envy you. I hope all of you have a terrific holiday weekend.
