These are a Few of My Favorite Things 2006-07-11 @ 9:55 p.m.
I want to thank all the people that read this diary and especially all the people who leave comments. I appreciate the fact that you take time to read what I write. Thank you. I also have a special thanks to those who comment (yes, I don't usually comment in my own comments but I know who does and I read all of them). You have all been kind and courteous. I mention this because there have been issues on a few blogs with people leaving nasty comments. I feel blessed that I haven't had any creeps here. You're all great and special to me. Thanks.I like lists. I like organization. I actually have a list of lists I want to make. Yes, it's that bad. I love reading other people's lists on diaries/blogs. Lists are perfect for diaries and blogs because readers can comment, agreeing with or disagreeing with items on that list. They can also make suggestions. Love it. Plus, when you don't feel like a writing a real entry, you can fall back on a list or lists of likes and dislikes. I suppose you know where this is going. As this is a sex diary, I'll start with sex. Favorite Sex Position: 1) Doggie Style - What it lacks in face-to-face intimacy it makes up for in raw, animal pleasure. If I had to choose, I'd choose Doggie-Style. 2) Man on Top - This is a close, very close, second. I love the weight of a man on me. As for oral sex, my favorite position is on my knees, with him sitting down. That way, I can watch him, which is always a major turn-on. I love that set-up. It's a magnificent blend of being submissive and being in control. Moving on: Writers 1) Pat Conroy 2) Jim Harrison 3) Jack Kerouac 4) Margaret Atwood 5) Dorothy Parker 6) Calvino That's in no particular order and it's just a random sample of what I enjoy. Conroy's Lords of Discipline is excellent. Harrison is brilliant. Kerouac...I would have loved being a Beat Poet. On the more traditional side: 1) Scott Fitzgerald; 2) John Knowles; 3) Flannery O'Connor 4) Cervantes 5) Joseph Conrad Conrad is tough going for me and I know why people do not enjoy him. He's chunky, I think that's a good description. You really have to dig through Conrad. Speaking of Conrad, I recently saw the director's cut of Apocalypse Now. I've always wanted to like that movie but something always held me back. Parts of it were brilliant but it lacked something. Having seen the director's cut (or extended version or whatever the hell they call it) I do like the film. There's a terrific sequence in the long version where the soldiers come upon an old French plantation, still inhabited by Frenchmen. The scene is filled with fog and you are not quite sure if the French are real or if they are ghosts. It's a very dreamy sequence. I thought it captured that 'going back in time' as they go up river motif very well. Bravo. I guess the extended version just pulled it together for me. I confess a weakness for Stephen King. He's a great storyteller and one of the most infuriating writers around. Some of his work is truly terrifying and some of it is just so, so bad. I never could figure him out. He's either a fun, scary read or an outright bore. Sexiest Parts of Men 1) Shoulders 2) Arms 3) Strong, sculpted calves 4) Chest Favorite Sports to Watch 1) Baseball 2) Hockey 3) Figure Skating Although I love baseball, my favorite athletes are hockey players. They're just the sexiest athletes. I find them irresistible. In college, Steve played both baseball and hockey. When I went to the baseball games I enjoyed watching the games. When I went to the hockey games, I enjoyed watching the players. Sometimes I even knew the score. Favorite Sports Movies I'm not a big sports movie fan, but I do like: 1) Eight Men Out 2) Raging Bull (sweaty men pounding the hell out of one another, what's not to like?) 3) The Natural 4) The movie about the 1980 Olympic Hockey team (I'm zoning out on the title). So, after saying how I like organization, I write a completely disorganized entry. Oh, hell, consistency is overrated.
