I've noticed that when the sex is hot, our relationship is better. I don't mean in the "I'm getting some so I'm relaxed sense." Nor am I suggesting that great sex will transform a poor relationship into a good one. It just seems as though our best qualities are on display more often when things click in the bed room. Steve seems more patient than usual, more understanding, more interested in what I want. It's very nice to say the least.

I did make a few New Year's resolutions. My goal is to simplify my life. There's two, big, good-looking men standing in the way of that goal so I'm concentrating on the little things.

For instance, I've invented 'Spa night.' Yes, you heard me. Once a week, Steve and I have a spa night. It starts with a nice, warm bath and then a round of massages in front of the fire. Once a week is somewhat ambitious and I suspect it will end up more like once every two weeks, but so far, so good. Sex, by the way, is not mandatory on spa night. It's always nice, but not required. Steve's messages do tend to end in him getting head. Mine, the last two times, have ended in a kick-ass foot message rather than an orgasm. Don't tell anyone but for the time being, I'll take the foot message. I think touching and pleasuring in a non-sexual way spurs intimacy.

I like spa night because it's simple. You need two people (each with two hands) a tub, a few candles...no batteries necessary.

I haven't introduced Chris to spa night yet but I will.

My next idea for simplifying my life was so obvious, so simple, that I can't believe I never thought of it before. I discovered that just because the phone rings, it doesn't mean I have to answer it! I'm not joking. Believe it or not, you do not have to answer the phone when it rings. Yeah, I know. Brilliant. I might get a patent on that idea. If it's important, people will leave a message.

Along the lines of spa night, I'm taking one day a week, probably a Friday night or Sunday, to spend alone. Do whatever I want, whenever I want, which can include doing nothing at all. Ever notice how much planning it takes to do nothing?

Finally, I'm finally redecorating my office. We spend so many of are waking hours at work but sometimes we never take the time to transform that area and put our stamp on it.
