Quick Update 2007-11-28 @ 8:24 p.m.
Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. It is probably my favorite holiday. The food is great and it lacks the gift-buying pressure of the Christmas season. What's not to like?I made two pumpkin pies, one for my family and one for Steve's. It was the first time I followed a recipe from a television show. The pies kicked ass! They received rave reviews. The pies were not completely 'homemade.' I don't quite have the patience for making my own crust. One of my creations was brought to Steve's family for dessert on Thanksgiving. The compliments were gratifying and sincere. Trust me. As a semi-disaster in the kitchen, I know the difference between real compliments and 'just being polite.' One of Steve's aunts, the real bitchy one, commented on my efforts, saying "Look, Steve, we might domesticate her yet." The great thing was, Steve Grandmother chimed in and said something along the lines of, "No man's truly happy when his woman is wholly domesticated. He may think he is but he's not." She made me laugh. Unfortunately, Steve's birthday surprise was put on hold which was too bad because Cooper is back in town. I felt lousy over the remainder of the weekend, beginning Friday night. On top of that, my period came early....fun times. Wish I had more Hope your weekend was enjoyable and I hope to be back soon with something more interesting.
